Tim Miles needed a quality road win in the worst way, and the Nebraska coach got it the easy way Monday night. The Cornhuskers led wire to wire in a 15-point victory over Indiana, which was held to its lowest point total (51) of the season.
Nebraska’s defense will get a tougher test from Michigan State, which is getting outstanding perimeter play from Cassius Winston and interior scoring and rebounding from Nick Ward. The Spartans are 9-0 straight up and 8-1 against the spread since a loss at Louisville in late November.
James Palmer Jr. leads four double-digit scorers for the Cornhuskers, who could take a big leap toward securing an NCAA Tournament spot by knocking off Tom Izzo. The confident Cornhuskers appear to be live home ’dogs here.
The play: Nebraska, +1.
