The NBA’s referees are woke.
During Monday’s Wizards-Pistons clash, Twitter erupted after a no-call on what was a blatant travel by Wizards star Bradley Beal during the fourth quarter of Washington’s 121-112 loss.
After Complex Sports tweeted a video of the play with a caption “Cancel NBA refs,” the league’s referee account broke its silence and tried, inexplicably, to dunk on naysayers with their view of the play, on which Beal took at least four steps without dribbling.
The NBA has been applauded for its transparency with this account, but virtually no one can not follow the logic. The tweet was getting badly ratioed not long after it was posted.
There was one person who agreed with the refs, though. Beal responded to Complex’s tweet with, “Look clean to me 😂😂🤷🏽♂️.”
