Millennial pink isn’t just for ladies. Just ask former NBA shooting guard Nick Young, whose burst-fade mohawk is now dyed the sweetest shade of rose.
“I’m Swaggy P, so I gotta live up to my name,” the 6’7″ athlete told the Post after the Zadig & Voltaire show for New York Fashion Week. “Real men wear pink and they enjoy it.”
The pro player — who used to date Iggy Azalea — said he’s been taking heat for his creative hair-color choice.
“The reaction has been crazy, wild. People have been calling me a lot of not nice names,” he added with a grin. “They think I’m stressing, but I’m just having fun.”
The online trolls didn’t hold back. “Crunched Strawberry Shortcake HeadAss!” wrote one commentator on Young’s Instagram, while another sniped, “Don’t be like dennis rodman now.”
Even Young’s buddies piled on. “A lot of my old NBA friends and friends are telling me who am I trying to be now, turning into Prince,” he added. “I tell them you’ve gotta step outside the box, you can’t be normal, you know.”
Just to show them, the former Denver Nugget rocked shiny bubblegum-colored pants and a pale violet sweater at the LaQuan Smith show on Sunday. “I had on full pink just to go with the hair. Everything to match the hair.”
