Chase Utley has a new job, but the same goal: Upset Mets fans.
Utley recently started as a studio analyst with SportsNet LA, and Tuesday night he sat down for an interview to exchange perspectives with John Hartung on this year’s season.
Utley was asked about his infamous F-bomb at the World Series celebration at Citizens Bank Park, his involvement with “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” and, of course, his feelings about the Mets.
When Hartung asked Utley to confirm his hatred for the Mets, he responded, “I do. I do.”
The star spent 13 of his 17 major league seasons with the rival Phillies. After his transition to the Dodgers, Utley broke Mets infielder Ruben Tejada’s leg with a hard slide during the 2015 NLDS.
Utley will be back in South Philadelphia on June 21 for his retirement night when the Phillies take on the Miami Marlins.
