Three golfers to pick at the Travelers Championship

The Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn., features 22 of the world’s top-50 players, including Brooks Koepka, Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas. Here are two contenders and a long shot worth a wager.

The plays

Jason Day (18/1): Day arguably is the best putter in the world, and throughout his career he’s had tremendous success on Poa Annua greens. I love that he’s gone to Stevie Williams on the bag and I expect success here after the combo finished a respectable 21st at Pebble Beach.

Marc Leishman (28/1): A winner at TPC River Highlands in 2012, Leishman arrives in good form, taking 35th at the U.S. Open and fifth before that at The Memorial.

Sungjae Im (65/1): Im has six top-10 finishes this season. If he’s hanging around that neighborhood again on Sunday, nothing wrong with having a 65/1 shot in that position.
