Tacko Fall is continuing to take the Las Vegas Summer League by storm.
The 7-foot-6 big man, who is seeking a roster spot on the Celtics, scored 12 points, grabbed eight rebounds and had four blocks in 17 minutes to help lead Boston to a 113-87 victory over the Grizzlies on Thursday night in Las Vegas. He was an impressive 6-for-8 from the field.
Fall has been a pleasant surprise for the Celtics. Through four summer league games, Fall has 34 points on 16-for-21 shooting to go along with 17 rebounds and four blocked shots in 56 minutes.
One NBA scout told the Boston Herald on Thursday that other teams could be regretting not taking a shot on Fall who was not drafted out of Central Florida.
“I’m still stunned that no one even spent a late second round pick on this guy,” the scout told the Herald. “The risk-reward upside is phenomenal.”
On Wednesday, The Celtics waived big man Guerschon Yabusele, which could help the emerging Fall get a roster spot with the team.
The Celtics moved to 4-0 in summer league play in a game that saw the Grizzlies’ Grayson Allen get ejected after picking up two flagrant fouls in seven seconds.
