Bachelorette’s Carlin Sterritt on why he didn’t tell Angie Kent actor

He was uncovered last week as a secret actor looking for fame on The Bachelorette.

And front runner Carlin Sterritt, 30, has revealed why he never told Angie Kent, 29, about working as an actor and model.

‘I didn’t want to talk about acting and modelling, because I never wanted Angie to question my sincerity,’ he told TV Week this week.

Last week, Angie’s fears came true during Thursday’s hometown episode after Carlin’s brother, Jarvie, told her the fitness trainer saw the show as a career opportunity.

It was a devastating blow for Angie, who had previously been warned about Carlin’s secret by ousted contestant Jamie Doran.

While speaking privately to Jarvie, Angie mentioned what Jamie had said about Carlin using the show to further his acting career.

But rather than put her fears to bed, Jarvie awkwardly confirmed that his brother was indeed using The Bachelorette to raise his profile.

‘I guess so… I think at the start, yeah,’ he said.

But Jarvie later added that his brother’s connection with Angie was genuine, despite the fact he’d initially only signed up for fame.

Confronting Carlin later in the episode, Angie said: ‘I don’t care if you’re an actor, that doesn’t mean you can’t love [somebody]. Just say that you are one.’

He defended himself, saying he wasn’t ‘hustling’ or ‘shooting for the stars’ and was only on The Bachelorette to find love.

The hunk then gave Angie an ultimatum, saying she either had to trust his intentions or send him home.

‘If you can’t see me at the end of the day for who I am and what we’ve built, then that’s it,’ he said. ‘Do you know how many times I could have bailed on this thinking it’s too hard?’
