Speaking in her documentary, she said: ‘I just remember thinking this is never going to go. I’m going to constantly wake up and feel sad for the rest of my life. So what is the point in being here? I physically couldn’t tolerate the pain any more.’

During the appearance, Chris also discussed his involvement with Movember after filming a documentary about male fertility called Me, My Brother and Our Balls.

Chris had his testicles checked for lumps live on This Morning last year and admitted he didn’t realise how many people would react to the segment.

He said: ‘That was a remarkable thing for me I didn’t realise the reach would be so strong, you never expect to help somebody so close to you for me it was my brother Ben who checked that evening because of what I did.’

‘He text me saying he was proud, he checked himself came into my room about 3am, he found a lump and went to the doctors and from there everything took its toll really.’

Chris added: ‘He’s good really it was quite a sizeable lump but he’s on the mend but he’s got a prosthetic in now which he’s v happy with, he’s always v positive he’s got a good mental health and doesn’t suffer too much.’

He also noted how touched he felt by the response, adding: ‘When everything started happening I was a bit overwhelmed and thought why is this such a story?’

‘I thought oh my brother’s got himself checked off the back of it for it wasn’t such a a crazy story until it hit home a bit home, it’s wonderful to come on the show and raise awareness on this. I’ve had four operations on my testicles.’

‘The beautiful thing about society is there’s always somebody you can talk to, there’s helplines you can ring, there’s always 24 hour support.

‘Movember are brilliant as well, just opening is such a brave thing to do but it’s such a beneficial thing to do, until you speak to someone you don’t know how much weight it lifts off of your shoulders.’
